“Namaka is weird, but it is weird with purpose. It is suspenseful, but it is not just trying to throw a bunch of confusing moments at the audience and hope we call it mysterious. There is an emotional core to the film. It feels oddly wholesome in places, even when things are getting intense. It is a movie about longing, fear, art, connection, and the kind of choices people make when they feel lost enough to follow something they do not fully understand.
This is why I love getting the opportunity to watch independent movies.”
